Theater Night Hamburg 2020 – Digitally and barrier-free accessible

Done! The Theater Night Hamburg 2020 becomes more accessible with 30 subtitled performances, 6 audio-described performances and 6 sign language performances!

This will make the start of the season with a multi-faceted live and on-demand program, also one for visitors* with hearing impairments, visual impairments and signers. There are insights into new productions, varied theme routes and exciting backgrounds from the Hamburg theater landscape and the theater night serves as an example of barrier-free accessible cultural offerings.

Starting at 16.00 on Saturday, this inclusive content will be available for one week at www.theaternacht-hamburg.org .

Background: The Theater Night Hamburg is implemented as an online streaming format this year and we were able to provide subtitles (UT), audio descriptions (AD) and sign language (DGS) for numerous plays and film contributions.

We are curious to see if the public will take the opportunity from Saturday 12 September 16.00 to 19 September and look at www.theaternacht-hamburg.org to see what all there is to experience in Hamburg theaters.

Büro grauwert will be in charge of the conception and implementation of the accessible content of the theater night for the next three years. This year as digital streaming – in the coming years hopefully again live on site in the theaters and stages of Hamburg.

The accessible offerings of the Digital Theater Night are funded by Aktion Mensch and implemented by Büro grauwert (www.grauwert.info). In this way, we want to make Hamburg’s cultural life more inclusive in the long term over the next three years.
