Association of German Engineers (VDI) creates new expert committee

The Association of German Engineers (VDI) has created an expert committee for user-orientated product development in order to make developers, engineers and product managers more aware of the issues of older age and special needs. Mathias Knigge is one of the experts who have joined the committee. Bringing with him his experience from his work with grauwert, he will represent the competence network EDAD. As a certified engineer and certified designer he is particularly keen to find new ways of establishing the subject on an ­interdisciplinary playing field. He draws on his experiences gained within the project “Design for All” (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, BMWi), which has produced a user-friendly illustrated guide for small and ­medium-sized businesses.
