Mainzer Designgespräche 2017
Inclusion as an economic factor – talk at the ‘Mainzer Designgespräche’ symposium
Since 2002, the series of symposia Mainzer Designgespräche has addressed topics relevant to the profession. Every year a different main subject is chosen, with a focus on current and cross-disciplinary aspects which are presented by different experts. At this year’s Mainzer Designgespräche, Mathias Knigge presented the concept Design for All. He explained the potential of aesthetically pleasing products which from the very beginning take into account the diversity of their potential users. Tom Bieling from the Design Research Lab at UdK Berlin introduced additional aspects from the field of research.
The Designforum Rheinland-Pfalz (descom) aims to bring together recognised experts from the areas of business, research and design, to discuss the economic benefits of a strategic focus. Further information is available at www.descom.de/projekte/mainzer-designgespraeche
