Accessible Culture – workshop series for Hamburg’s Cultural Authority
The Cultural Authority of Hamburg seeks to establish accessibility throughout the cultural venues in the city, and it has commissioned grauwert to develop a workshop series for museums and theatres. The workshops are aimed at management / HR, construction / technology, education, communications and curatorial staff. Participants learn to develop a new sensibility for the varied needs of visitors and recognise where there is a need to act. Based on practical tips and examples from the interdisciplinary work of grauwert, participants can start to devise possible solutions during the workshop.
The Design for All approach is the guiding principle, as it combines two aspects: accessibility for people with impairments and added value for other target groups. The workshop also specifies which measures are quick and easy to implement, and how these can be communicated positively – this is particularly important for cultural institutions with limited resources.
grauwert is happy to supply further information about the subject on request.
